Microsoft's Core Fonts

Microsoft’s “Core Fonts” used to be freely avail­able on Microsoft’s website.

Unfortunately, these have now been removed, ap­par­ently because they were being repackaged, mod­i­fied and shipped with com­mer­cial prod­ucts in vi­o­la­tion of the end-user license agreement.

However, as per the license, it is pos­si­ble to re­dis­trib­ute the fonts pro­vided the pack­ages are not modified, as is the case below.

To extract the fonts from the *.exe files on OS X, you’ll need cabextract (available via home­brew and MacPorts).
