Is the reason that smells and sen­sa­tions are much more evoca­tive than images or sounds: (a) because they’re fun­da­men­tally more evoca­tive or (b) there aren’t any rea­son­able simulacrums, so you’re not con­stantly exposed to evoca­tive smells and sen­sa­tions the way you are with sounds and images?
