I like this signs in London: they’re clear, they’re attractive, they’re to-the-point. But then there’s this, which is currently displayed all over the Tube system (see the BBC story). Are you supposed to check with other passengers or not?
What it says:
“Don’t touch, check with other passengers, inform station staff or call 999.”
Wouldn’t one of these–any one of these–be better?
“Don’t touch: check with other passengers, inform station staff or call 999.”
“Don’t touch–check with other passengers, inform station staff or call 999.”
“Don’t touch; check with other passengers, inform station staff or call 999.”
