At least in the first few days, the media seemed to be taking a perverse delight in figuring out exactly how many people had died. I remember hearing a radio interview with an official from Indonesia who happened to have flown over parts of Aceh; all the reporter seemed to want to know was how many people were thought to have died. 20:35
